Best Review Ever

Sandcastle in the Sun has the warmest, most loving feeling of any place I have ever been; whether living there or vacationing there.  The delight of having 100' of private beach to allow friend's children or grandchildren to enjoy safely is a benefit that can be measured.  If children or grandchildren are visiting, having the public beach park next door brings smiles to everyone's face.  A playground, large deck area, very large sandy beach, and a cafe with food that is hard to beat (especially, when the last thing you want to do is cook).

To know that after I have passed the intersection of Hwy 50 and 19, I am heading to a secluded, tranquil home with views from almost every place outside the cottage and inside from almost every room, a calmness fills me.  I love the reality that after a busy day among the hustle and bustle of traffic and people, paradise on earth is waiting for me makes everything so much easier to deal with.

A new appreciation of the gift that being at the cottage, we called Sandcastle on the Sun, has now become part of me.  If I ever forget that feeling, I only need to go back and read the guest book of such wonderful comments left by guests who were given the chance of staying at our cottage; and, as they say, have taken memories back with them that will last a long time - weddings, honeymoons, engagements, reunions, retreats for long time friends, family vacations and more.

The sunsets that I post on my Sandcastle in the Sun page will be, once again, showing the beauty of the Master's Touch so different every night that I am blessed with getting to enjoy and have a page to go back and treasure them.  I will always keep the page available to any who also want that chance to enjoy the moments, even though, Facebook will only reveal the new postings to about 7% of those who "like" your page unless you make a point of checking out the page for yourself because they want you to pay to get people to your page.  As I found out, that is why so many pages have thousands of "likes"; they have paid for them.

Until the end of May, when my husband and I have once again moved back HOME, I will not be posting any sunsets because there are not enough nights we can even be in our own home to post NEW sunsets. Starting in June, sunset photos that are posted will be new ones happening that night.  My camera will once again have its spot on the corner of our entertainment center ready should an amazing sight appear that I might miss searching for my camera.  You are welcome to continue to like my page or drop it, for me the reason behind my evening beginning this page will be back and I will be back where I belong; with my husband in our real home.

Thank you all.    Sunsets - link to my Facebook page that will start to change again in June.

Magical Place

This house will offer any guest EVERYTHING they could have or could have not thought of. Becky made sure we were taken care from the day we made the booking for the house and was extremely helpful through the entire process. They have thought of everything! If you come here and don't have fun, well... everything about this house is great! There is a little bit of everything for everyone: quiet places to read and relax (multiple decks to sit and enjoy the sunset and the scenery), the beach is literally right next door, it is very quiet and everywhere you turn you'll find friendly people willing to help you. 100% recommended if you are taking the time to read this review. It was awesome!  We created the heart in our private beach and started the new chapter in our lives in it!!!

Breathtaking

Thank you so much for letting us vacation at your home. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time. I appreciate all of the extra care and attention you took to make sure everything was in order for our family. We have so enjoyed the warmth in this frigid winter up north and the sunshine. The sunsets were breathtaking. The girls had so much fun with all the toys you had both for the outside, the beach, and even inside when we wanted some recliner time. Blessings to your family.

Good Feeling

When we arrived, my friend told me that this cottage had a "good feeling" and it embraced all week. We soon realized that good feeling was the love the owners put into making the cottage feel like your own home. We came down to relax and de-stress. There is not a better place that we have ever been to that is better for that than here. The sheets felt like silk. We highly recommend BeckyJack's Food Shack (the best fresh fish ever!). We enjoyed watching the families play at the next cottage down. The sunsets were awesome. Thank you for sharing the love you put into the cottage and the cottage with us.

Good Feeling Review

The Perfect Holiday Hideaway with Access to Attractions

We spent a week in this cottage which gets as close to paradise on earth as I think it is possible to get. Becky and Gary have tried to think of everything one could possibly need to make the perfect holiday whilst also making one feel utterly at home. The weather could not have been kinder, the wildlife performed as if trained with daily visits from dolphin, heron and other large birds, sea otter etc and the sunsets were magnificent. Becky made planning the holiday as easy as possible with prompt email answers to questions and a library of information when we arrived covering everything from instructions on the use of all appliances to a folder on restaurants and their menus. As well as "down days" when we relaxed and enjoyed the blissful surroundings, paddled the canoes so thoughtfully provided and bar b q'd dinner watching the sun go down, we had busy days visiting relatively local attractions such as Busch Gardens and a River Safari about 30 mins up the road. Our thanks to Captain Bob who made our air boat trip so memorable . We also had a trip down memory lane with a vist to the Clearwater/St Petersburg area where we had stayed on holiday 20 years previously. We had breakfast a few times at The Breakfast Station about 7 or 8 miles away - highly recommended for a good start to the day (Angie, a waitress, was most helpful), and also used Willy's Tropical Breeze on the adjoining public beach for lunch on a couple of ocassions. In the evening we tried the Bayport Inn which gave such large portions that one meal fed all of us for lunch the following day. However the best restaurant we tried was Brian's Place, about 5 or 6 miles away. This offers good quality food a la carte and also a very reasonably priced early bird menu between 4.30 and 6.30. On leaving the cottage we spent a few days in Orlando visiting the attractions there, which is a different experience altogether with the crowds and the hustle and bustle. These could be visited on a daily basis from the cottage - probably about a 90 minute drive away with the added benefit that one would return in the evening to the peace and tranquility afforded by Sandcastle in the Sun. Our thanks once again for helping to provide a truly memorable vacation.
